Agricultural Simulator: Historical Farming is a role-playing game that takes one back to the more traditional days of agriculture.

Agricultural Simulator: Historical Farming is a virtual world where the player is taken back to the old days of agriculture before modern methods and technology took centre stage. Set between the 1950s and the 1970s, this platform provides a very real "hands-on" feel in terms of tilling the land and working with various crops. Gone are the combine harvesters; these having been replaced with a single man, his field and his trusty tractor. This game is highly relaxing while simultaneously quite educational.

Realism of the Tractors

Many fans of farming will first note that the attention to detail in regards to the tractors is very impressive. Models such as John Deere and Lanze Bulldog are available and everything down to the most minute detail has been addressed. Still, we should mention here that the movement of these units is not completely realistic and the graphics can appear angular at times; particularly when viewing the face of the farmer. The visual appeal of the tractors is still something to behold and whether one is an experienced farmer or a novice, their appearance will leave a lasting impression.

More Than Farming Along

While there are obviously times during the game that one will be active in the fields, another great aspect of this simulator is that it illustrates many of the other responsibilities that a farmer has during the average workday. Transporting goods to and from a barn, selecting different tractors for the right job and even accommodating the needs of cows are a few of the activities to be enjoyed. Adhering to this sense of detail, the tractors themselves are highly reactive; they will even change direction depending upon how the rows within a field have been previously plowed.

System Requirements

This game is able to accommodate Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8. 3 gigahertz of processing power is recommended while 4 gigabytes of RAM are also required for smooth functioning. 1.3 megabytes of hard drive space will also ensure streamlined game play.

Now that we have seen the major aspects of Agricultural Simulator: Historical Farming, let us look at the main benefits and a few drawbacks.

Pros

  • Numerous tractors to choose from
  • Realistic farm scenes and activities to perform

Cons

  • Graphics are slightly disappointing
